Sacred Geometry

Saturday, September 21

Sunburst’s Sacred Geometry teacher, Craig Hanson, guides us on an exploration of the Golden Proportion in nature. Enjoy Craig’s interactive presentation, followed by guided step-by-step instruction on creating your own pentagon and dodecahedron, a natural 12-faced form found in minerals and life forms.

Take home your own colorful 3D hanging dodecahedron, the essence of creation! Enjoy a delicious lunch, wander our meditation gardens, walk the labyrinth, and enjoy beautiful views and wildlife!

Natural Fabric Dying Shibori Workshop

Saturday, September 28

Intro to Shibori — Japanese dyeing technique that involves folding, twisting or bunching cloth and binding it, then dyeing it in indigo and other natural botanicals. Explore this moving meditation and create distinctive color patterns on cotton. Leave with dyed tea towels and a peaceful mind. All materials are provided. Class will be out-of-doors. Optional: Bring natural fabric items from home to upcycle. For 18 and over.

Kathleen Kaller (Kat) teaches all ages in her workshops infused with mindful meditation. She embraces the therapeutic process of art-making. The ocean continues to be her muse; water influences her artwork and assists in the workshops she teaches. Kat is a regular facilitator at Ventura Arts Center.
