My little kitchen spider is growing. His web is in the groove of the sliding rail, so I leave the window alone because he lives there. I think he is content. He doesn’t catch much in his web, but I do see tiny holes in it where he’s had a meal here and there.
Over the months my little spider has gotten used to me and doesn’t hide anymore when I do the dishes. His life is so simple. He doesn’t have much company, no children to speak of, and life without a cell phone is so quiet for him. Every late afternoon, just as the sun begins to turn golden, he comes out on his web and basks in the light.
He is a good teacher for me.
